Oat Wraps

These oat wraps are one of those recipes that genuinely make healthy eating easier. They’re soft, flexible, made from simple pantry ingredients, and come together in minutes using a blender. Unlike many store-bought wraps that are packed with preservatives, refined oils, and additives, these homemade oat wraps use wholesome ingredients you likely already have at home.

What makes these wraps especially good is the texture. They stay soft and bendable rather than dry or crumbly like many healthy wrap alternatives. The oats create a hearty, satisfying base while the chia seeds help bind everything together naturally, giving the wraps flexibility without needing flour or eggs.

I also love how versatile they are. You can use them exactly like regular wraps – fill them with chicken and salad for lunch, turn them into breakfast wraps with eggs and avocado, or use them as a quick pizza base or quesadilla. They’re also great for meal prep because they store well in the fridge and can easily be reheated throughout the week.

Because the batter is blended, the wraps cook evenly and have a smooth texture rather than feeling grainy. The garlic powder and black pepper add subtle savoury flavour, but you can easily customise them depending on what you’re serving them with.

If you’ve been looking for an easy homemade wrap recipe that feels nourishing while still being practical and delicious, these oat wraps are worth making on repeat.

Why You’ll Love These Oat Wraps

  • Made with simple pantry staples
  • Soft and flexible texture
  • Naturally high in fibre
  • Easy blender recipe
  • Great for meal prep
  • Customisable with different seasonings
  • Perfect for wraps, burritos, or breakfast tacos

Serving Suggestions

These oat wraps are delicious filled with:

  • Grilled chicken and salad
  • Scrambled eggs and avocado
  • Tuna and cucumber
  • Turkey and cheese
  • Roasted vegetables and hummus
  • Taco mince and lettuce
  • Smoked salmon and cream cheese

Variations

  • Add paprika or chilli flakes for extra flavour
  • Blend spinach into the batter for green wraps
  • Add Italian herbs for a Mediterranean version
  • Use gluten-free oats if needed
  • Add nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavour
  • Turn them into crispy crackers for dipping by cutting the cooked wraps into pieces and air frying at 200°C/400°F for 5-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp

Tips

  • Letting the batter rest helps the chia seeds thicken the mixture slightly
  • Use a good non-stick pan for the easiest flipping
  • Keep the wraps relatively thin so they stay flexible
  • If the batter thickens too much while sitting, add a splash of water

Storage

Store leftover wraps in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan or microwave before serving.
