Beauty Gummies
Ingredients
Gummies using fruit juice (firmer gummy)
- 2 cups fruit juice tart cherry, orange, etc
- 1/4 cup grass-fed gelatin
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2-3 tbsp honey maple syrup, or monk fruit
Gummies using whole berries (softer jelly gummy)
- 2 cups berries fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2-3 tbsp honey maple syrup, or monk fruit
- 1/4 cup grass-fed gelatin
Vegan fruit gummies
- 1 cup fruit juice
- 2-3 tsp honey maple syrup, or monk fruit
- 1 1/2 tsp agar powder
Instructions
Gummies using fruit juice
- In a small saucepan, heat the juice and sweetener over medium heat until warmed through, but not boiling.
- Then, whisk in 1 tbsp of gelatin at a time, until dissolved. Stir the mixture until all of the gelatin is dissolved (this can take up to 5 minutes)
- Pour the liquid into your gummy moulds. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm (time varies depending on how large your gummies are). Once firm, remove from the moulds and enjoy.
Gummies using whole berries
- In a high powered blender, add the fruit, water, lemon juice and sweetener until smooth. Optional to strain the fruit if you don’t like seeds or chunks. Taste and adjust to desired sweetness.
- Pour the mixture into a large pan and heat over low heat. Once it’s warm, sprinkle over the gelatin and whisk it in for a few minutes until no lumps remain. If you find stubborn lumps that won’t whisk in, simply remove the small chunks with a spoon.
- Pour the liquid into your gummy moulds. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm (time varies depending on how large your gummies are). Once firm, remove from the moulds and enjoy.
Vegan gummies
- In a small saucepan heat juice and sweetener over low-medium heat. Add in the agar powder and simmer over low-medium for 5 minutes, whisking continuously.
- Let the mixture cool for 5 minutes. Then pour the mixture into your moulds. Place in refrigerator for about 10 minutes until gummies have fully set.
Notes
- Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Gummies will soften some (but still hold together) if left out at room temperature.
